"Re: Collecting in relation to astrology..." posted by ~Ray

Hi all. I am doing some thinking about/research into the impulse to collect and how it might connect to astrology and was wondering if anyone has some thoughts on the matter or would find this an interesting subject for discussion. I undergo been primarily examining the collecting impulse in connection with Taurus/the 2nd House/Venus so far - as the collecting of material objects largely stemming from the need for security. This seems the obvious place to examine collecting though I'm sure all the signs can connect in some way as well. I can see Gemini as a collector of more immaterial things - information experience etc. - stemming from the desire to perceive as much as possible. I can see Sagittarius as well as an experience collector but more of a focused one (on specific beliefs/cultures/so on). And I think Virgo could tie in nicely to the organization/analyzation of collected materials and ideas (as what is done with a collection [organization/usage/display...] is an important part of the collecting process). I'm also curious about Scorpio's connection to collecting being the opposite of Taurus. It must tie into the shared resources side of Scorpio though I don't see Scorpio as being entirely about sharing/merging when it comes to those matters (as it is a fixed sign and does retain). Aaanyhow those are just some of my initial thoughts and I'd be very curious about anyone else's! Thanks. I used to apply collecting when I was a kid. Probably it is something I have outgrown to some degree though I still like getting direct of science-fiction classics or horror classis if I can. Perhaps that has also something to do with the fact that such things could seem a little sad though I would not lie and go on about loving tennis and all kinds of socially-orientated sports either. I used to hive away seashells along with one or two other things and I would say the collecting bug was inherited my mother did too. Last time I saw her she wanted to know if I would like her seashell collection once sheis dead and gone. She also collected small/ceramic cats at one time. My father used to collect observe's eggs probalby a hobby that would be frowned on a lot these days and tends to be a hoarder never throwing out old photographs books or cuttings that kind of thing. Blame it on Mercury-Saturn exchanges my father has a sqaure my mother has a conjunction between these two and so do I. Maybe it is more a Virgoan thing than a Taurean one or maybe not though my Midheaven at 29 Libra could have gone into Libra but my mother has Virgo rising. M brother is the only one who does not seem to collect much and he has no Mercury-Saturn aspects at all. I'm Gemini with Sag rising and I do collect information much of it in books and computer files. I also hive away rocks and crystals My Husband is Aquarius and I have not been able to sight his birth time so I undergo no rising But He is a collector of so many different things we say he collects collections. I have known several different Aquarius who were extraordinary collectors My spouse collects coins. Military miniatures romance novels history books military history books board games. Movie and Tv DVDs ( and several thousand vcr tapes ) Olympic pins and Law enforcement pins lps and much more. Not counting cats birds and strays in general ). He also encourages every one else to collect so my Virgo kids undergo assorted collections too. Once upon a time my oldest child ( at about age 7) had a huge mess of candy wrappers on her floor Mike was scolding her to pick up the floor and she looked up and said " but its my collection " he said O. K and left the room. Other Aquarius Collectors I've known included a Social Science Professor with several houses full of fine art and forge. An artist who not only had thousands of paintings he had false walls around his entire apartment to conceal several years supply of canned foods. I knew an Aquarius in San Bruno California who opened a store for rare records mostly as an excuse to amass record albums and rock and turn memorabiliaAnother thing about some of these Aquarii? is that not only do they collect they let go. The Professor in Sacramento just walked away from all the stuff invited friends to back up themselves and moved to Kenya where I'm told he has begun a new collection. My spouse lost his waltz trophies and an be of other treasures in the Loma Prieta Earthquake and was completely cool with it Any way in my undergo the really intense collectors are often Aquarius types. Aquarius huh? That's one sign I hadn't yet considered much in relation to collecting. That's really fascinating that you've known so many Aquarius Sun folks who are such avid collectors. I wonder what might be the Aquarian pull towards it as I'm sure it's different than the Taurean appreciation of physical items and desire for security through them. Being able to part with collected items/possessions in general is not something I feel very comfortable with unlike them - and I might just go ahead and accuse that on all the Taurus in me. I like familiar material things around me in order to feel comfortable (though the occasional thrill of entirely foreign surroundings and strangers is great too.. but.. occasional is the key word). Do you by any chance experience your husband's Moon sign or much else about his chart (besides his Rising sign/Houses since that info's not available)? What abpout hoarding then?I knew someone like this once where you could not move inside his house. Every dwell was strwn with clutter books everything in some boxes therwe were also (eww) maggots from various leftovers. The reason I ask about this is that there was once a TV create by mental act a kind of reality show I suppose that featured individuals whose clutter had taken over their homes. The task of the TV presenters was to help these individuals desist from being 'pack rats' and get rid of it all - obviously there was drama where these individuals resisted but there was always tha happy endings where these folks did eventually mange to press themselves into tastefully renovaterd decluttered homes. Often here were emotional problems of some kind involved - some were shopaholics ohers had lost someone inherited a house that was already full of fill that kind of a thing. So has anyone ever had any experience with someone who compulsively hoards? or been one and can relate it so anything in their charts? I think fill is just one align of collecting though. Selective orderly collecting of nice objects of a certain kind for example could certainly be collecting change surface though it makes your place look tidy and attractive and tastefully decorated. I could see Venus in Taurus possibly being expressed this way but especially a Libra 2nd House (not to say that you necessarily DO collect anything - even in a selective/tasteful/order manner). The 2nd House could be a place of acquiring material things and what you value and Libra there would probably want aesthetic fit harmony and beauty. This would probably alter itself to a fairly 'tasteful' choose of acquiring. Gemini is on my 2nd House cusp and I am a mess. I hoard like nobody's business and I hoard EVERYTHING because I find it all potentially useful or interesting. It is a very unorganized sort of collecting and I don't show it in a 'nice' manner but pile it in a mess. This is actually less of a thought-through collection affect and more of a messy accumulation process than someone who for example collects fancy vases and organizes them on display on their mantel. Just some thoughts! "So has anyone ever had any experience with someone who compulsively hoards? or been one and can cerebrate it so anything in their charts?"My ex- her house is crammed w/ egest she gets very nuts when you try to perge her. Taurus Asc. Cancer idle 2nd. Gem Mars 1st. Saturn 8th. Aries Venus and Merc 12th.. Pisces Sun 11th. She has a spash chart no conj. There are farious Aspect all over. I could cerebrate to this.. One of the main reasons we didn't bring home the bacon. I just can't be were my eyes are attacked by so much stuff. Drives me nuts. I grew up w/ minimal posesions. I need order and space were I live. I even tend to alter 1 protect of my place empty and find myself drawn to looking that way for sanity breaks.. i am a book addict i also deliver letters & cards (if something is written in them) from family & friends i also collect elephants which i usually purchase when i am traveling & undergo quite a few musical instruments the instruments are kind of funny since i only play the piano but i think it's cause i love throwing dinner parties & most of my friends can plaly some equip & after dinner thats where the evening ends up. Besides that i dislike fill and give a lot of things away. At the end of every season you can see me making a drop-off at the red go across box not sure what the astrological connection is maybe books & letters has something to do with sag 3H ruler & gemini 9H ruler are placed in my 4H & i don't know neptune in 3H with believe to musical instruments i definitely think libra asc & venus conjunct ic has to do with having dinner parties at home food friends conversation music what else is needed :)peace, natty HeheAnother Aqua Collector here...6th house sun saturn mars. Virgo rising uranus r and pluto r in the 1st house. Mercury in 5th house Capricorn. I like to hive away things that are useful to me a guest may not notice an item as part of a collection but I do. For example. I like nice wood chairs. And nice decorative boxes any size made of wood paper glass. I use them to store other items. I desire metalware too. I undergo a small collection of various galvanized buckets that I use in the tend for planters etc. And I love wrought iron stuff. I really enjoy nice quality bed linens and change them and mix and match. My son has graced me with a collection of heart shaped rocks and they got wax all over them when a forgotten examine burned too low. I was so bummed those are the most meaningful of collections. Oh! I like to collect fortunes from cookies too ! I keep them in a ceramic bank my son gave me. Some collections I undergo walked away from not too easily but if they no longer serve me. I don't want the clutter. I recently let go of a few oil lamps except special ones like one that was my great grandmothers. And I had a few too many quilts so I sold them... I have a collection of apparel jewelry that my Grandmother amassed. I don't quite know what to do with that but I am sentimental about stuff too. I desire old stuff ,that has a spirit like the stories it tells if you listen. I like alter old houses too for that reason. Which brings to object this classic bit.. enjoy!

Turning points are always unexpected even when you know they're going to happen or that there's a probability whether you prepare for the worst or for the best. Shannon at 17 remembers exactly where she was when she heard the news of 9/11. She was in the sixth evaluate watching terrifying live TV in her classroom as a second airplane crashed into the Twin Towers. I remember exactly too. I was on-stage in the base theatre at Eglin Air compel Base participating with various VIPs on how to educate our workforce on new acquisition procedures. I remember everything about the day--what I wore who was there. Tom' leather jacket following Wendy into the video trailer to check a live feed of apocalyptic smoke over New York City the feelings surrounding the moment what was going through my head just before during and after. Just as I remember exactly where I was at other moments that are burned into the American psyche. The moment I heard the news that Saudi Arabia had been invaded and what the ramifications were. I was at Barbara's condo trying to make 5-month-old Shannon pose for a conceive of with Barbara's baby nephew on the sofa. I listened to the radio broadcast as I walked into Bluewater Bay's rental office to pick up their night deposit and heard "Challenger go with throttle-up" and then. "Roger go with throttle-up" and then the space shuttle exploded. And I bequeath having a little tantrum because I wanted to go outside and compete and I didn't be to check the stupid TV news of some man walking on the moon even though all the grown-ups kept telling me it was an important moment that I needed to see and I was gonna get a whippin' if I didn't sit down and check it. But just as there are defining moments in the global consciousness--moments that become turning points in how we as a whole view the world or our country or our society--we have turning points in our own lives. Sometimes they seem desire such small things. Sometimes they are but the impact is life-changing. When I hurt my back that was a study turning inform that opened up so many new doors for me even if it did take the next 27 torturous months to make the turn. When I realized my marriage was over that night was a study turning inform though it took another 18 agonizing months before I could finally accept it and take action. My horoscope for today was funny. Sun conjunct pluto my pluto has *almost* no conflicts it does with mercury which explains my paranoia but overall pluto for me is in a healthy displace. I embrace it and its energy is one that I'm well acquainted with. So sun is conjunct pluto today and it talks about repairs and conflicts. Repairs yes conflicts? Eh?I'm starting a body cleanse today coincidence? I didn't know sun was going to conjunct pluto today but I did know that today I'd get paid so I could buy my greens for the abstain!Pluto in libra in the 2nd accommodate trine venus in the 10th sextile neptune in the 4th square mercury in the 11th. Oh the many levels in which these connect.. Getting money when sun conjuncts pluto in the second house (accommodate of money) starting a care for fast (pluto) the fast being based on drinking *greens* which I sight sensual (venus) a week where I live off liquids (neptune in the 4th accommodate) my create having started his journey into green smoothies and raw foods today as well (neptune in the 4th house = my create) etc etc.. Conflicts? Mercury is vulnerable. So communication transportation technological issues could be experienced. This "enlightening" of that point in my map helps me map which areas in my life are covered by certain astrological placements more specifically. I wrote a post on my food blog claiming that I had found my raw food guru which is my body. I evaluate of all places in my map this is the one I like the most. It has a write of energy that deals with being self-empowered lots of beauty sensuality and an ethereal air wraps it all up nicely. come up. I'm going to do a green smoothie abstain for one week and take some herbal supplements to help toxins move out of my be even faster. Not only is this groom a be repairing cleansing and re-adjusting but it's also something I find very beautiful and loving. My green smoothies are desire an elixir of the sun. I'm enthralled by the thought of chlorophill being the liquid sunlight that nurtures our bodies. come up that being said. I am also defining myself in terms of outward beauty. It's desire when you start eating raw foods the freshness and colourfulness of your food becomes such a big part of your life that you want to wear fresh vibrant colours. That's probably where the granola hippie visualise comes from. Oh the horrors of wearing colour! Blah. I love colour. I'm not into the granola thing though. I'm more into the mystical side of natural beauty. And I've change state inspired to try something that's not much different than what I already do but has a different energy to it. Sun conjunct pluto is a time for spring cleaning and new beginnings and I'll celebrate that today with my big glass of color smoothie!

"The moon and foreshadowing" posted by ~Ray
Posted on 2007-11-09 21:26:08

Has anyone ever experienced foreshadowing of some kind related to their idle?I evaluate this may have just happened to me!Here is why:A few weeks ago. I had transiting idle conjunct natal jupiter and I had transit mercury conjunct my vertex. During that measure I experienced the most random and condensed series of spilling things I undergo ever seen or heard of and then it just stopped once the idle was out of range of jupiter! One week from now: will have mercury retro conjunct vertexopposite chironsquare venustrine marssextile saturnsquare jupiter150 degrees from ariesuranus = go across mercury retro/ descendantTwo weeks from now: ordain undergo sun conjunct vertexetcetc etcand mercury retro out of aspect with all of these planetsinstead it ordain be square moonsextile neptuneI have a big decision to alter about how long to stay at home with mom now that dad has passed I prayed about it and entangle that I be to *act TWO WEEKS* and then end to move inBUT NOT DECIDE BEFORE THEN___________________________There are many reasons to be at domiciliate with mom and my brothers: for mom(chores shopping paperwork moral give conversation) for each brother (tutoring helping mom with them rides a game we share together) for my friend and his girlfriend who want to pay less for our aparment and undergo it to themselves and could displace it off if I moved out (rent would go drink $100/month total)He just got a job and my grandparents said they wanted me to stay and not just get those two up there cuz they didn't have jobs. He said he wants to find another displace but I don't think he will find one because he got screwed by his measure roommates and has a bad bad mark on his rental preserve called -"delinquent $3,000 worth of contract"But he has always paid his share to me and always did with his roommates-they just decided to stop paying on him! And ate his rent money. Anyway he is going to try to find a different displace and maybe sight it hard-maybe i am do by. I am going to see how mom is doing alone-and maybe sight out she needs me around for more than a week or two (it seems desire it now)I am guessing these things ordain go through a period of confusion and unclear-ness next week.. and that it ordain change state clear a week after thatThe timing makes sense along with:measure spent looking for apartmentstime spent at domiciliate seeing how things are goingNot to mention the end in my contract by paying nothing for awhile!!Only thing is - I be to persuade everyone to let me act over the basement at home and carry my cat to live at homeMaybe a hard change if the need isn't apparent?A lot of things here would be a hard change without all parties seeing how things really are and that takes time. Hard sell for family hard change for grandparents hard sell for roommates. Without seeing how things are panning out we would all be more inclined to try to act the status quo as much as possible. But if we act TOO desire it could cause some real problems too... Well anyway... I will see.. and I ordain act. I haven't always experienced mercury retro problems.. in fact this transit is the first time I remember feeling these effects of miscommunications and spilling!I undergo had so many miscommunications lately.. misunderstanding others misunderstood by others misunderstanding myself :PBut they have all proven beneficial in that they undergo revealed deeper things I had not noted properly before. Yesterday I was spilling desire crazy for a few hours again and then... again it stopped. This time idle was exactly conjunct the uranus midpoint instead of exactly conjunct jupiter.. and I was experiencing confusion about someone who had mercury retro on his vertex conjunct natal plutoAnd transiting sun on my natal plutoAnd transiting saturn+venus precisely opposite my natal venusspilling things.. you all laugh.. but.. yeah.. pay attention you! ok ok book... I will keep the little astrology hamster wheel to myself lolI anticipate I just desire to try to track the planets moving around and any patterns associated with them in my life. I am still figuring it out too. But it really does look like the idle might undergo a choose of "foreshadowing" element to it right now to me. It really feels desire all that spilling at work that one day is somehow connected to a major episode at work that occurred soon after during similar but slightly re-arranged planetary aspects. And similarly spilling at grandma's house and an upcoming decision/confusion about how to re-arrange home life.. and so on... And mapping prayer experiences with planetary aspects and allok don't mind me :)I might just be a victim of mercury retro anyway alter now.. we ordain see in 2 weeks. pi. I am sorry to hear about your dad. What a delimma you must feel you are in. Just a little suggestion that might help. I have been researching the cancel idle of Course and the next one is on Oct 31. If you are not familiar with this I will inform briefly that this event means that the Moon will not be making any study aspects to any other planets for a brief time before it leaves the write it is in. Astrologers say it could just last for minutes or it could last for up to two days all depending on the other planets. The time era that will be involved is 10:14 pm to 9:49 am (this is pacific measure so you may need to alter to your time). The significance of this event is that there are no displace from other planets to the idle. They affirm this is a great measure to meditate and do nothing but take measure for yourself. Things not to do is make major decisions. I just thought this might back up with the situation you have and make things a little clearer if you could meditate to clear your mind so that you could alter the alter decision. Like I said though. I just started researching this particular subject and undergo some conflicting issues about it. The main conflict I undergo is can the Moon ever really be aspect remove. They disappoint to have in mind that there are many other apsects such as the quincunx the quitntile ect that could undergo some kind of affect on the moon. Also there is the natal planets. What if one has natal planets in the last degrees of the sign the Moon is in and how does that alter an individual personally. I am going to compete around and act a journal on this. I am going to use the times mentioned to change state and cerebrate. I will be able to tell the difference due to the fact that I undergo a very busy object and meditation usually is very difficult for me(my map has a very stressfully aspected Mercury). So this is just a suggestion for you to believe if all else fails and you still conclude confused. Good luck in any decisions you make and Bless you and your family in their time of be. I evaluate the idle is important because it is very change state to hide compared to other things in the sky. Here's one:I stepped outside in 06 sometime around november if I remember. The moon was very solid looking and clouds were wrapped around it symettrically perfect. In fact the clouds were slightly braided with each other and had motion. It was dark none of the other stars were shining much. I looked at it for 4 minutes or so and ran in to try and get some populate to act a look at it. No-one would change surface rouse. None of the neighbors were out. This one was for me. I thought. I thought I witnessed something very unusual but I refered to some science books and it does have a particular name but I forgot the label. I'll never forget that. Jahg - for many reasons I found the affix below both poetic and humorous. As for how a idle looks - I don't care.
